The sensors utilize a touch free technology based on the modulation of a microwave signal by a mechanically oscillating string element driven by ambient vibrations. The lack of electric components makes the technology the perfect choice for developing a new family of high performance, attractive to use, and cost effective telemetric sensors.
Areas of use:
- By collecting information from Sondero's sensors, new control systems can be designed so that internal combustion engines are governed more environmentally, i.e. reduced fuel consumption and lower emissions of greenhouse gases. A reduction in fuel consumption by several percentage points can then be possible.
- Monitoring of the efficiency of internal combustion engines for automobiles and trucks can make changes in service intervals which by extension gives more efficient engines.
- By continuously measuring the torque of drivetrains we can develop the whole drivetrain so that the gearshifts are taking place at the right time. This affects both comfort and the enviroment positively.
- Wireless pressure sensors that do not require electricity could, for example, be applied in carwheels. With the help of this technology, you can get information so that you all the time are running with the right tyre pressure. That, in itself, saves both fuel and tyres.
- The power industry wants to know stresses, such as true torque in order to optimize the various components in different types of power plants, for example wind power. Sondero's technology makes it possible to measure in a different way than was previously possible.
